She began her nursing career at Emory University Hospital caring for open heart surgery patients as a registered nurse. She continued to focus her cardiology expertise by specializing in pediatric cardiac patients at Children's Health Care of Atlanta at Egelston. In addition to her cardiac nursing, Judy expanded her knowledge base by working in the Emergency medicine department at Saint Joseph's Hospital in Atlanta. Because of this instatiable love for learning, Judy continued her education and received a master's level degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP). As a FNP, she worked at Gwinnett Anesthesia Services, LLC performing pre-operative evalations on petients undergoing surgery to minimize inter-operative complications and provide patient education on multiple aspects of anesthesia. With the advent of retail health care in 2001, Judy became on of the forerunners by establishing the Atlanta CVS/Minute Clinic, INC. During her 5 years working with Minute Clinic, she used her family practice skills to evaluate and treat patients with common health ailments such as sinusitis, ear infections, flu, strep throat and many minor injuries.
When her husband was diagnosed with sleep apnea, Judy became interested in learning more about the importance of sleep which led her to the field of sleep medicine. She educated herself on the adverse effects of untreated sleep apnea including the increased risk for early heart disease which resonated with her previous work in cardiology. Judy's diligence and research led her to understand that the preventitive power of sleep medicine reaches far beyond heart disease including the prevention of stroke, heart attack, diabetes, weight gain and even headaches. Her experience and research culminated in her decision to work for Fusion Sleep Medicine, LLC for four years.
Judy brings her 15 years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner to Sleep and Sinus Centers of Georgia. Judy's philosophy is to deliver disease management and health promotion every day.
